ABOUT
Hi, I'm Pip!

Hello! I'm a Graphic Design Student at Loughborough University, and together with my mum (the real sewing wizard), we run FrayedEdge. She gives old fabrics a second life; I run the online chaos and sometimes sew things badly enough that

she has to redo them. Teamwork.

FrayedEdge began when Mum's sewing hobby officially took over the house. The fabric piles were getting dangerously high, and rather than be buried alive in material, we turned the chaos into the business.

Now we rescue clothes before they hit the landfill, hunt for treasures in

charity shops, and stitch vibrant fabrics into tired denim. We avoid

mass-made, generic designs on purpose so everything we make is

personal, playful and beautifully unique. And if you're a fellow fabric

hoarder, you'll get it: every scrap is precious, full of possibility

and absolutely cannot be thrown away.

Hi, I'm Judith!

Hello! I'm the mum who makes everything. The one behind the sewing machine, the hand stitched details, the odd little creations, and -quite often-

the one who quietly fixes whatever Pip has bravely attempted to make.

I was taught to sew by my mum, who was taught by her mum, which basically makes us a Multigenerational sewing coven of needle witches.

I earned my City&Guilds qualification and spent years volunteering at the Weald&Downland Museum, stitching historically accurate garments and happily disappearing into the world of old-school craftmanship.

These days, after work, I potter about doing little favours for people and conjuring up odd bags, cards, and whatever else pops into my mind.

The business is my way of giving those creations purpose... and frankly, getting them out of the house while slowly wearing down the Ever-Growing Hoards of fabric I've somehow accumulated!
